Girls soccer wraps up record-breaking season

Breaking the record for the most wins in the season, the Wenatchee girls soccer team has a season for the record books. Literally.

They went 13-1-5, shattering the record of 11 wins from 2014 and 1998.

The team also broke the record for most goals in a season with 52 goals. The previous mark was 43 goals from 2008.

The Panthers broke the goals against average, with the Panthers scoring 1.05 a game. The previous record, from 2006, was 1.11.

Two players, sophomore Ariana Escobedo and sophomore Allison Flynn, earned first team all Big-Nine. Flynn set the record for the most goals in a season with 18 goals, surpassing the former record of 14 goals.

The Panthers will be losing only one player next year, due to her being a foreign exchange student. The team had no seniors this year.
