Panther Basketball secures first playoff victory 57-49 double OT win against rival Eastmont

    The Wenatchee Panthers boys basketball team pulled off a double overtime win against the Eastmont Wildcats last Tuesday, opening the district playoff with a win 57-49. Wenatchee led for most of the game, surging into the midway point of the third quarter with an 11 point lead. Eastmont came back in the fourth quarter to tie the game up and send it into overtime. By the end of the first overtime Wenatchee was up by three and Anthony Lisson of Eastmont hit a three pointer with no time left to send the game into a second overtime. Wenatchee started to hit more mid range shots in the final overtime and won the game by eight. Freshmen Garrett Long and J.J. Jelsing had 17 and 10 points, respectively. Junior Darius Carlson had 14 points and Senior Nolan Parmenter had 8 points and 14 rebounds.  Wenatchee faces Sunnyside tonight, Thursday Feb. 15 at  7p.m.
