Innovation and variety will collide in the second annual Wenatchee Mini Maker Faire on Oct. 29 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Wenatchee Convention Center. This event, nicknamed “The Greatest Show (and Tell) on Earth,” is brought to life through those in the community with a talent for creativity.

Sophomore Sam Monson is on the planning team for the Maker Faire this year, and has had experience participating in the Maker Faire as well as organizing it. Last year he ran a booth that created drones.

Monson says he’s seen so many different levels of creativity in the booths and makers, from a stand that had custom bow ties to a booth that made mech suits. He and the planning team visited more than 20 booths last year and have set a goal to see at lease 40 this year.

“[The Maker Faire] lets people design and create. It lets people show off their work, and it gives ideas. It’s a way for the community to communicate, and it gives them something in common,” Monson said.
