Wenatchee High School’s girls soccer team has finished their season, winning the District 5 championship, but losing to Mead at the first state game, the score being 3-0. The team finished their season with a 15-1-2 record, only falling to West Valley and Mead. Finishing the season, many players on the team received 2025 Big 9 All Conference Honors, the awards are as follows:
Madison Norton – Big 9 Defensive player of the year and first team all conference-defense
Logan Grosdidier – First team all conference – Forward
Berkeley Boles – First team all conference – Midfield
Zaria Huston – Second team all conference – Defense
Annie Detamore – Second team all conference – Midfield
Sophia Garcia – Second team all conference – Forward and Big 9 all sportsmanship team
Fynlee Smith – All conference honorable mention – Defense
Ellison Eastman – All conference honorable mention – Midfield
Kamryn Garcia – All conference honorable mention – Forward
Ashton Kirkpatrick – Big 9 Coach of the year
First Team All Conference Midfielder, Berkeley Boles feels strongly about this season, both as a player and as a team.
“Personally, this season has definitely been the best one yet. I feel like I’ve shown a lot of improvement mentally and physically in the game, which allowed me to have such a successful year. As a team, we showed a lot of growth from the beginning of the year till the end of the season. We played with grit and continued to work hard from beginning to end, which shows the amount of dedication all the girls have when it comes to soccer,” Boles said.
Alongside the honors of the Conference titles, Boles has her own shoutouts for her team.
“Some shoutouts I have for my teammates this year were Aly Adan, where she stepped up and truly showed how selfless she is by playing goalie when she never has before and killed it and also Maddison Norton for getting defensive player of the year, which was well deserved and was an amazing moment for her senior year,” Boles said.
Looking forward to next season, Boles has goals to make it even farther, and to progress on the way there.
“My hope for next season is to continue to get better individually and build our team chemistry. I would love it if we could also see another league title and district championship and advance in state. For the off season, our team will continue to grow and get better through playing club and working as a high school team during the summer. Personally, I will be working super hard in the off season to up my physicality and playing hard in the club season.” Boles said.
As Wenatchee High School sports move on to the winter season, many of the soccer athletes will be shining in other aspects before soccer season returns in the fall.
