Belcalis Marlenis Almánzar, also known as Cardi B, the first female rapper to win the Best Rap Album Grammy award, has recently released a new album. Here’s everything you need to know.
The album AM I THE DRAMA? was released Sept.19, 2025. This is her second studio album serving as a follow-up to her debut album, Invasion of Privacy. Her new album features multiple talented artists, including Selena Gomez, Summer Walker, and Lizzo, to name a few. The music with these artists ranges from the different beats and lyrics they put out in their songs. Cardi B is making an album that was able to feature many different genres for many different types of her fans to enjoy, really shows the variety and work she put into making this album come together. The different genres you may see in this album are hip-hop, trap, Latin-pop and R&B.
The new album really helped Cardi B share her struggles and what she went through in a toxic relationship and calling out her rival rappers, whom she doesn’t necessarily like. Standing her ground after years of public backlash, Cardi B has been getting it ever since she became a star. Apart from calling out her past disagreementsher song “On My Back” (feat.Lourdiz) captures Cardi B’s new love for her new boyfriend Stefon Diggs, even mentioning her wanting to have a kid with him.
This album features 23 songs, aside from the obvious Top hits, including “W*P” (feat. Meagan Thee Stallion) and “UP”. The first top songs to hit from the new release are “Safe” (feat. Kehlani), followed by “Dead” (feat. Summer Walker), “Pick It Up” (feat. Selena Gomez) and “Magnet”
While listening to the album, I will admit I was bopping my head and vibing to the music. Some songs were not really my cup of tea, but that didn’t stop me from still vibing to them. I actually really like this album and the many different artists featured.
Overall, AM I THE DRAMA? For me, this album was a solid eight out of 10. I really liked the way Cardi B shed light on topics she thought people should know about and was passionate about sharing with the world. You can listen to this album on many streaming platforms like Apple Music, Spotify, YouTube and other streaming platforms.
