Bowling team pins down state title

The Wenatchee High School girls bowling team emerged as the 2016 State champions on Feb. 5-6 at Narrows Plaza Bowl. After a weekend of tough competition, the team posted a score of 7483. The Panthers beat second-place finisher Evergreen High School by 25 pins.

Senior Brianna Saylor placed third in the competition with a score of 1236. Saylor had an average pin total of 201 this season, a feat never accomplished before by a WHS bowler.

This is Jay Young’s last year coaching the squad. WHS place second and fourth the last two years under Young.
