This is the first home game of the season for the WHS wrestling teams. In an interview with Reese Whitley, he talks about his goals for the season and who stands out to him, as for some of the freshmen.
“I got Amy at 155. It’s her first year, and she has absolutely improved from not knowing to taking shots,” Whitley said. “I got Venus, It’s her brand new 1st year as well. She came in with her friend, didn’t know anything and now she’s taking shots and pinning. Then I got Z, who was on the varsity team right now at 110, who is absolutely fast and has an excellent double leg.”
In an interview with Stephanie Salgado, she explains struggles in the past years for her team, saying, “I feel like we struggled a lot last year with the girls committing.”
She then talks about her expectations for this season with her team, “Now that they understand it more, my expectation is for them to stick with it now that they’re getting into it,” said Salgado.
