Noyd, Diaz lead Wenatchee DECA chapter at International conference

Wenatchee High School junior Vivian Noyd was crowned the International Champion in the Sports & Entertainment Operations Research Plan event on Tuesday at the DECA International Career Development Conference in Nashville.

Senior Arturo Diaz won second place in Principles of Hospitality & Tourism, and senior Abby Davison reached the top 10 in Food Marketing.

Twenty-one DECA students from WHS competed. Multiple DECA students took home awards and were recognized for their hard work.

Sophomore Jerrod Bishop and senior  Emma Malmin also reached top 10 in School Based Enterprise.

“It was a surprise to make top 20 and then let alone make top 10. We gave our best presentation,” Bishop said.

Placing in the top 20 were freshmen Maegan Delvo and Bailey White in Business Law & Ethics Team, and seniors Alex Haugan and Edan Patterson in Buying & Merchandising Operations Plan.

Other students who were recognized for having a top presentation or test score were sophomore Colin Snyder, senior Chase Davidson, sophomore Chris Bishop, and sophomore Sophia Castillo.
