Canadian singer-songwriter, two-time Grammy award winner and global pop icon Justin Bieber recently released a new album, so here’s everything you need to know.
The album SWAG was released June 11, 2025, but Sept. 5 he released SWAG II as a surprise reissued version of SWAG. SWAG was Bieber’s seventh studio album, featuring a more emotional side of the artist as he navigated his way through fatherhood, marriage and internal conflicts throughout these past years. His album shifted to more of an indie rock, alternative R&B sound, whilst continuing to have his original pop persona woven in.
Out of the combined 44 tracks on the official extended SWAG album, 23 were part of the second release. One of the top hits from the new release was “SPEED DEMON,” followed by “I THINK YOU’RE SPECIAL” (feat Tems), “POPPIN’ MY S***” and “LOVE SONG.”
SWAG was a new style for Bieber, as he explored more with live instrumental aspects alongside lo-fi production and more raw, emotionally revealing lyrics. Unlike Bieber’s past albums, instead of focusing on producing a perfectly polished mainstream pop album, he poured more of his authentic, unedited feelings into SWAG. Needless to say, the fans still loved it as SWAG II charted on the Billboard 200 list, debuting at the number two spot.
When I listened to the album, although it was not my typical taste of music, I can confidently say I didn’t hate it. There was a very clear difference between his pop boy era albums and SWAG to me and I can appreciate that.
I feel that his tracks most certainly resonate with those who have been through deep emotional pain similar to Bieber’s, not to mention the ability for fans to interpret the songs however they may choose. Due to the album’s capability to portray emotions, whilst still leaving room for open interpretation, it can appeal to a large fanbase, giving each person who hits play something to connect to within the music.
Overall, I’d say for me, the album was a solid four out of 10, but for all the millennial Bieber heads out there, it was definitely a 10 out of 10 in the category of Justin Bieber music.
