What’s hot, what’s not: October

Sports Editor Katherine Robinson complies a list of all things trending this month.

1. Grand Theft Auto 5

Grand Theft Auto 5 is the newest video game to hit the shelves. Attracting popularity among gamers around the globe, this game was released just a couple of weeks ago and has already seen outstandingly high numbers in popularity.

2. White Vans

Probably about 50 percent of students at Wenatchee High School own a pair of white Vans, Keds, or another knock-off brand of sneakers. Not only girls, but also boys have picked up on this fashion trend. Whether worn with a pair of jeans and a T-shirt or with a dress and cardigan, these are a must have for the fall of the new season.

3. Heeled Boots

As the fall season creeps around the corner, girls are beginning to pull out their numerous pairs of boots from the back of the closet. However this season, boots with a heel are the new thing you may begin to see more and more, and easy way to add a little more flare to the typical pair of shoes you see on the feet of all the girls around you.

4. Camo

From girls to boys, pants to jackets, camo is everywhere. It can be worn casually or easily dressed up. If you don’t already own a pair of camo leggings or shorts, I strongly suggest heading to the store now to grab a pair and you’ll fit in perfectly with the new fall trends.

5. “Ohh Kill Em”

You’ve probably heard this catch phrase all over the place, from the hallways to Twitter and Instagram, and you probably won’t stop hearing it for a while. Perhaps this line was first heard in a popular Vine that was Internet famous, but this phrase is now commonly used among the high school crowd. This phrase was first a title of a rap song and has now become a commonly used phrased for just about anything. The true meaning of the phrase? Well, no one really knows…
